For GPs
Akkadian Health is a psychiatry-led telehealth practice for adults with ADHD and neurodiversity, working with referring GPs across Australia.
We assess and manage ADHD (including comorbid presentations in women, hormonal patterns and AuDHD), adult autism, and the conditions that commonly travel with them, anxiety, depression, PTSD and OCD. Children’s ADHD assessments are delivered in-person at our Adelaide clinic.
Refer using a standard psychiatry referral. Most patients are seen within a few weeks.
Who to refer
We’re set up for the complex and comorbid end of presentation — patients who benefit from a specialist eye on what’s actually going on. That includes:
Adults ADHD
Adults querying ADHD, particularly those whose presentation has been quieter, late-identified, or where anxiety or depression has been treated without the ADHD beneath being considered.
Womens ADHD
Women navigating ADHD in the context of hormonal or perimenopausal symptoms.
Adults Autism
Adults considering autism assessment, including AuDHD (combined ADHD and autism).
Children and Adolescents
Children and adolescents, under 8s assessed in-person in Adelaide; older children and teens often via telehealth.
Anxiety, Depression, PTSD or OCD
Adults with anxiety, depression, PTSD or OCD where neurodivergence may be part of the picture and hasn’t been fully looked at.
How to refer
A standard psychiatry referral letter, addressed to “the psychiatrists at Akkadian Health” or to a named clinician where you have one in mind.

- What to expect at each step of the assessment.
Once the referral is in, the patient books directly with us. We confirm receipt and let you know when the assessment is scheduled.
What you’ll receive back
A full clinical letter following the assessment, covering:
- Diagnostic outcome against DSM-5 criteria.
- Comorbidity findings where present.
- Recommended treatment and support plan.
- Where applicable, medication initiation and titration notes.
- Ongoing review arrangements.
For patients on stimulant medication, we follow established prescribing protocols and communicate clearly on shared management.
Working alongside your practice
Where you have a patient you’re keeping in your care, we work alongside you. Patients return to your practice for general health and ongoing scripts; we provide specialist input and review.
Our Care Centre (SA) in Adelaide is the local prescribing arm — for South Australian patients you’ve referred to us who need ADHD medication initiated, titrated and stabilised. Once stable, scripts return to your practice. The Care Centre also serves as the GP for Adelaide patients who don’t have a regular GP, but we won’t take over your patient’s general care unless that’s what you’ve asked us to do.
